The Door County Fire Chiefs Association has joined forces with other local entities to create a resource to provide information and assistance to the residents and guests of Door County through the duration of the hardships surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak.
“It is our hope to be able to provide a cohesive message, answer questions and [provide] assistance to nonemergent problems,” said Chris Hecht, Sister Bay/Liberty Grove fire chief and president of the Door County Fire Chiefs Association. “This will be a clearinghouse for those who need help, want to help, and create that connection. We want to connect those who are in need with those who can help.”
The coalition is not meant to be a substitute for 9-1-1 services. In emergencies, residents should still dial 9-1-1.
